Double Challenge

I thought I'd combine two challenges in one card this week - Dawn McVey's colour challenge and the Passion for Papertrey's button challenge.

Here are the colours for Dawn's challenge this week

Such pretty colours don't you think? For my effort I stamped the flowers from PTI's Everyday Classics set in pure poppy ink onto raspberry fizz card and made the leaves in new leaf ink. I found the Bazzil grey cardstock in my stash and added the sentiment in black to complete the colour selection - phew! A few PTI buttons and a little bit of bling and it was done - clean and simple!

Dutch Girl Birthday

I went back to what I enjoy most for my card today and I've been wondering why I don't do it more often - basing what I make around a pretty paper set. I've had the Cosmo Cricket Dutch Girl paper for ages and not really used it enough.

This is an eleventh hour entry to A Passion for Papertrey's challenge - use at least two flowers on your card and one Papertrey product. Here I've used Floral Frenzy stamps and some Ocean Tides ribbon. I distressed the edges with some vintage photo ink and added a few cream pearls from the SU Pretties Kit.

Birthday - Wishing You

This is a bright and bold card - for a bright and bold lady! My dear friend Lana turned 40 last week - congratulations Lana! Please excuse the poor photo taken on my office window sil in the gloom.





I used my new Octagonal Nestabilities here withthe PTI Wishing You stamp set. The paper and inks are a combo of New Leaf and Pure Poppy.

Father's Day

Sorry that I haven't posted for a while - I've been a bit poorly and my mojo has gone South I think!

I'm not sure it's good to make a Father's Day card when you're not feeling 100% but my dear Dad didn't hold it against me. As my mojo had deserted me I used a card from the Papertrey Ink forum gallery as my starting point and used the Everyday Classics stamp set from PTI for the stars - because my Dad is a real star :)

Raspberry Suite Colour Challenge 7

Better late than never for this challenge from Dawn McVey - thank goodness we are ahead of US time here! I got out my tapestry rubber stamps for this challenge as they have been a bit neglected of late. When I saw Susan's tutorial on the pansey set (here) I remembered that I had a similar one that needed a bit of love.

I started off stamping in raspberry fizz, ripe advocado and spring moss but it looked a bit "thin" so I added in a little hibisus and new leaf to perk it up a bit! Deviating from the colours I know, but I like the strawberryish colour it all came out.

Here's a closer look at the flower stamping - I used a classic square nestability to chalk out the centre in pink and then stamped away before cutting and embossing with the same die. The cardstock is ripe advocado and spring moss and the paper is spring moss bitty dots.





Do you see that little bow- I made it with a Bow-Easy which I got from Sharon Johnson over at No Time to Stamp. This was my first attempt and it was easy! If you fancy one Sharon will ship one to the UK for you at very little cost! You might want to get some of her beautiful ribbon while you're at it.

Wishing You

I have only made a quick card this weekend as it's Spring Bank Holiday weekend and that means planting time for me. My little babies are out of the greenhouse and all lined up on the path - thank goodness for the beautiful weather as it makes the task so much better!

This card uses the Wishing You set from Papertrey and I've dressed it up with some tiny rhinestones, buttons and a border using a new Martha Stewart punch.

Borrowed Inspiration

I pinched the idea for this card from my friend Chris in Texas. When the second card here dropped on my mat I knew I had to have the Guide Lines Two set and try out Chris's colourway as it is so bright and cheerful.

I added some buttons and a little bit of bling to finish it off.

Whist I had the plum pudding ink out I carried on stamping on the new grid cardstock and added some pink and black in and made another!

Everyday Friend

This is another of my cards using Friends till the End, this time I dug out my old pad of Everyday Blessings paper and some spring moss and aqua mist bits and bobs.

Purplely Pink Peonies

What do you think of my new blog header? My peony has flowered this week - it starts off as a dark purple when it's in bud and then goes this lovely pink. Every year I hope that it will have lots of buds but yet again there are only 4!














I need to go investigate how this header milarky works as I am technically challenged and cannot get the script in white - but I'll keep trying!

Recycle Challenge

The very talented Lana set us a challenge on our forum this weekend to make something including anything recycled and red - the prize is a wooden chicken! It also ties in well with a challenge running this week on a great UK blog called A Passion for Papertrey - do go check it out when you have time as the two girls who set it up this year have some beautiful samples and the chance to win some Papertrey goodies too.




















For my recycled bits I used the backing panel from a packet of Papermania flower embellishments which had this nice script on it and an image that I stamped ages ago and had sitting in my "spares" envelope. The poppy is from the Papertrey set called Remember.

Guide Lines Two Mark II

Here's another little Thank You card using the Guide Lines Two stamps and cardstock from Papertrey, this time using Melon Berry, Spring Rain and Smokey Shadow colours. I found these lovely flowers in a little art shop this weekend and had the dark melon colour in mind - I like the contrast they give the card.

Raspberry Suite Colour Challenge 5

Dawn McVey has another colour challenge this weekend over on her blog and the colours to use were hibiscus burst, raspberry fizz, smokey shadow and white.

I wanted to make a thank you card for my work colleague who came back from visiting her Sister in the US with two boxes of Papertrey goodies; the Hibiscus Burst, Guidelines Two, Smokey shadow ink and the new grid cardstock came too so I used them to make this card.

The new grid cardstock makes it easy peasy to stamp out the patterns and I used raspberry fizz, hibiscus burst and smokey shadow inks on this one.


















The top pattern is stamped in Fresh Snow ink with Background Basics Retro - just love that set! I made the ruffled flower with the bitty dots paper and followed Becca Feeken's tutorial here. It's the first one I've made and I definately need a bit more practice - they are so pretty but very fiddly!
