This is the lovely Pam's creation and she has used Pretty Peonies in Hibiscus Burst and Winter Wisteria and a die cut peony to add that final bit of omph!

Stamp a Faire 2012

Meet the Cotswold Crafters all ready for Stamp a Faire!

We have had our breakfast of crossaints and coffee and are all ready to rock and roll.

We have all come down to Pam's in the beautiful village of Bourton - on - the - Water.  Mary is on the left from Catshill in Bromsgrove, Julie on the right from Rubery in Worcestershire, Pam is behind at the back our host for the day and little! old me in front.

Looking forward to having lots of fun!

Flourishes Florals

I've been playing with my Flourishes stamps - they are so lovely to sit and colour the images with Copics.

For the first card I was so inspired by this card here by Dawn and I have had it pinned for a while wanting to have a go - using Year of Flowers.  The hardest part was working out the layout!

How could I resist a wreath of peonies?  This set is called Mother's Wisdom and has some lovely sentiments in it.  My colouring still leaves something to be desired but I enjoyed trying to match the colour of my peonies in the garden right now - well until all the rain nearly flattened them!

All the other supplies on all the cards are by Papertrey Ink.

Retro Sketches #15

There is another great sketch over at Retro Sketches this week and so with time to play I had a nice afternoon with this sketch.

I used a die cut that (I think) is from Tim Holtz and stamped it in Kraft ink with my new crackle stamp.  The flowers are from Four of a Kind, and stamped in Berry Sorbet and Charteause inks.

Another MIM #69

It's been a lovely quiet day here today - Paul was at a car rally and Fliss in Manchester so I had a whole day  to please myself - bliss!  It's my niece Lily's birthday so this for her.

And this is the sketch that I based it on.  I did try three royal velvet felt flowers but they were too heavy, so I used leaves instead!

The background is stamped using Beautiful Blooms 2 using winter wisteria, lavender moon, royal velvet, hibiscus burst and chartreuse inks.

MIM #69 meets a Jubilee Challenge

Just popping in quickly today to show my entry for this week's Make it Monday which is to use of the sketches that Nicole has on her blog using inspiration design.  I chose the folding card as I felt like a play at something that was new to me.

As I was sitting crafting and watching all the wonderful Jubilee celebrations it was an ideal time to make a red, white and blue card to go into the challenge over at A Passion for Papertrey. 

I used the canvas side of the impression plate to give the white card some texture and coloured the In Bloom flowers in pure poppy combo copics.  The little sentiment is from Trendy Tree Tops - love that set!

Father's Day

It's Father's Day soon and as we will be away on our road trip in the USA I thought I would get ahead for once.  It was so bright and sunny here early this morning and the dogs were making a racket I had to get up and do something!

Over at A Passion for Papertrey the latest challenge is to use circles so I broke out my Background Basics:Medallions for the first time and had a play with Blueberry Sky and Spring Rain inks and took it from there!  It reminds me of Dad's RAF uniform that he wore for 40 years - hope he likes it!

As Betty noted this also goes well with a blog that is new to me - Dynamic Duos - their challenge this week is to make a monochromatic card in two colours of blue.  This is a first for me - one card in two places! 

May 2012 Papertrey Blog Hop

The challenge this month is to use this lovely photo as inspiration - got to love the second dish down - it reminds me of hallways in very old stately homes!

My card took the argyle, green and white elements and is very simple with just a bit of bling to brighten up the tree from Trendy Trees.

Retro Sketches #11

I am always seeing such great things on blogs where people make cards using the Retro Sketches so I thought I would have a go at one this week.

I've had the flower fusion stamps and dies unopened for ages so broke them out for my card and used raspberry fizz, autumn rose and the lovely new winter wisteria colours.

The photo is a bit over exposed and bright but I think you get the idea! I may fix that ribbon some what, but I had fun mixing things up a bit.

25th Wedding Anniversary Invitations

It's hard to believe but Paul and I will have been married for 25 years in June and we are celebrating with some friends and family at a tea party my Mum and Dad are holding for us.  We are taking a trip to New York and Boston immediately before the party so I had to get busy on making some invitations for Mum to send out.

Paul was put to doing what he does best - working out the dimensions for the embossed card wraps with compass and pencil, my assistant Paige at work designed the script layout and I did the stamping and assembly! I used Pretty Peonies with Autumn Rose for the one above and the ones below are in Blueberry Sky and Spring Rain with the  Rosie Posie stamps and dies.

I knew that the silver mirror card I have had in my stash for just forever would come in useful one day!
