A Passion for Papertrey - Blog Candy

If you head over to Steph and Kate's wonderful blog this week you can have a chance to win some great Papertrey goodies - one of them is the special anniversary set that wasn't available to buy!

While you're there soak up some of the fab work they do and maybe take part in one of the challenges.

Papertrey July Blog Hop

Tonight I thought would take part in my first Papertrey Blog Hop in spite of the time difference - well it's a Saturday night and I don't have to be up early tomorrow morning ;)

My mother in law, Pat, and I sat very companionably at the table this afternoon - she "stringing" beans from the garden and me making the card, with the sun streaming in on us - lovely!

The challenge for the hop is to use text in the piece - so I used the text dp from the Raspberry Fizz collection for part of the flower and panel and stamped the larger ocean tides petals with French script in ocean tides ink.

I decided to use my new set of Dahlia nestabilities to make the flowers and I scrunched and distressed them a bit "a la Dawn"! There is a vintage button, some twine, a bit of craft and aqua mist and some raspberry fizz ribbon to finish - phew!

Thanks so much for stopping by tonight - I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Take Along Tote

The good thing about having a week off work is that I get to do a bit of extra crafting! Today I made up a set of 6 monogrammed notecards for my friend Pam to thank her for a great weekend and as A Passion for Papertrey blog is having another great challenge to use one of Lauren Meader's Timeless Templates, I made this Take Along Tote to go with it.

The tote is the same on the other side - just enough space to hold 3 cards and envelopes each side.

I used my favourite Papertrey colours of Ocean Tides, Berry Sorbet and Spring Rain and the flower stamp is from Friends til the End.

Here it is filled on one side

And here are 3 of the 6 note cards -

So what do you think of this little package? Please let me know :)

First Cupcakes

This is a bit of an eleveth hour entry to the latest Raspberry Suite Colour Challenge. I just got a parcel of new PTI goodies and I made this card from my practice bits - I hate to throw anything away! I am almost distraught though, as my Rasperry Fizz ink has nearly run out and I don't have a refill bottle :( I just managed to stamp out the cupcake tops before it gave up the ghost.

The colours I've used are Scarlett Jewel, Raspberry Fizz, Vintage cream and Spring Moss and the stamps are from Cupcake Collection.

Thanks for looking as always!

Boards and Beams

I have had this little house already and coloured and waiting to be re-homed since I first got this Papertrey stamp set and followed Debbie Olsen's copic colouring tutorial.

My friend Penny is moving house this week so it was a good time to make it into a card for her and her family and also play with a new corner punch that I bought a few weeks ago and has lain unloved. I took the guide off and used it to make a border, keeping the little corners it left behind for decoration.

Hope the move went well Penny ;)

Arranged With Love

I've just got back from a great weekend away in the Cotswolds visiting my friend Pam - it was so quiet and I didn't hear a siren or an aircraft all weekend! What a difference to living near the world's largest airport.

To say thank you I made this card for Pam using my new Arranged with Love set by Melanie Muenchinger which is a companion set to my all time favourite flower stamps - A Year Of Flowers. I emailed Gina K and she posted it out so quickly I was very impressed indeedy.

The flowers were stamped in Memento Black ink and coloured with copic markers. I used Gina K's 120lb pure white card (well I did have to justify the postage!) to stamp onto and it's true - the copics don't bleed through to the other side and so will be great for one layer cards!

I hope you like this first effort - I'm working on a yellow version for my Mum and Dad's wedding anniversary.

Double Challenge

I thought I'd combine two challenges in one card this week - Dawn McVey's colour challenge and the Passion for Papertrey's button challenge.

Here are the colours for Dawn's challenge this week

Such pretty colours don't you think? For my effort I stamped the flowers from PTI's Everyday Classics set in pure poppy ink onto raspberry fizz card and made the leaves in new leaf ink. I found the Bazzil grey cardstock in my stash and added the sentiment in black to complete the colour selection - phew! A few PTI buttons and a little bit of bling and it was done - clean and simple!

Here's hoping that you have had a great weekend and enjoyed this beautiful weather. If you're stopping by do let me know what you think - feedback is a gift :)
